The opening of the Museum of the University of Baghdad with its New Look
Mr. President of Baghdad University professor Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein Abdulrasul opened the University Museum of Baghdad, where it was opened with its new look and the president walks along the museum and Dr. Haider Hamid Rashid director of the museuma explanated in details the contents of the museum of rare paintings that were displayed for the first time embodying the era and historical memory that the University of Baghdad passed by in terms of foundation and construction. The museum also has a special part for each college which embodies the date for that college, in addition to a special part of the pictures of heads of the University of Baghdad since its foundation.
From his part, Mr. president was impressed by the museum as it contains pictures representing thehistory of Baghdad University and legacy of historic tradition representing the past, present and future, especially its history stretches back to more than a hundred years as one of the oldest universities in Iraq and one of the ancient and strong universities in the world and the Middle East for its scientific services at all levels: technical, medical, engineering and humanitarian, cultural and artistic and supplementing Iraqi institutions with thousands of Iraqi students annually who have completed their studies in order to contribute in building the new Iraq. Mr. president mentioned that the museum will have a significant role in informing the visitors about the importance of the university, expressing his willingness to develop this museum and to have a building consisting of several floors commensurate with the size and the heritage of the University of Baghdad. Director of the Office of the president Prof. AbdulKareem Mounir and director of the media department, Dr. Kadhim Al-Omran with a number of directors of sections of Baghdad University, in addition to a large number of satellites and media men attended the opening ceremony.
